Group Accountant - Bracknell - £80k

Role overview:

The Group Accountant position sits within the Finance team reporting into the Group Financial Controller and will be expected to take control of the full consolidated internal and external reporting needs for Allegis Group EMEA.

This position will work alongside multiple internal business functions and will manage and co-ordinate the annual external statutory audit.

As part of a larger finance team, you will be working closely with your line manager to ensure an efficient audit process and that the monthly consolidated reports are submitted on time.

This position requires an individual with proven strong listening and communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, well developed numerical and analytical skills, the ability to multitask, work under pressure and converse with senior leaders within the business.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Monthly Consolidated Reporting:

  • Take the lead on the production of the monthly consolidated reporting pack.

  • Develop and maintain HFM for cost centre and consolidated reporting.

  • Manage the review and reconciliation of share capital, investment, inter-company debt, retained income and control accounts for the consolidated group to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Continual review and assessment of large intercompany positions and investments around the group, working with the internal tax team to ensure the most efficient group structure.

  • Take an active part in the monthly reviews of balance sheet accounts for all subsidiaries.

    External Statutory Audits:

  • Co-ordinate, own and manage the external audit process from interim through to filing of statutory subsidiary and consolidated financial statements for each jurisdiction, being the day to day point of contact for the audit.

    Compliance with Accounting Principles

  • Ensure compliance with local GAAP/IFRS in each jurisdiction and ensure group reporting is correctly managed and disclosed.

  • Research and identify impacts of changing accounting standards to the business and ensure the changes are communicated and implemented around the group.

    Internal Audit Function:

  • Develop and Build an Internal Audit function which tests, identifies and provides resolutions to potential risk areas

    Acquisitions & Ad Hoc Projects:

  • To support and advise the business on accounting matters related to acquisitions and ensuring reporting is available whilst supporting the implementation of our global systems

    Technical and or professional information needed to successfully perform the job activities including qualifications

  • Qualified ACCA / CIMA, with big 4 experience and has been operating within a commerce role with significant exposure to statutory reporting for at least 3 years

  • Expert IFRS knowledge with good knowledge of other EMEA GAAP

  • Advanced MS Excel

  • PeopleSoft Exposure preferred

  • HFM Super User
